Here are some Frequently Asked Questions, and more importantly, the answers!
When do the races start? The 8K race starts at 8:30am, on 2nd Street, just east of Sibley Street. The 2K race starts immediately after the start of the 8K race from the same location.
Where do we park for the races? You can park on any of the side streets either on the EAST or WEST side of Highway 61 south of 2nd Street. There are no parking restrictions in Hastings, except for the area on 2nd Street between Hwy 61 east to the rail road tracks. This is the starting area for the race. Can we bring pets? Well behaved pets on a leash are welcome. The pet owner is responsible for cleaning up after their pet and making sure the pet does not disturb other race participants, spectators or volunteers.
Can we bring strollers for our children? Yes! Strollers and children are welcome! This is a family friendly event!
Do we have to register children for the race? Children that actually run the race should fill out a registration form and pay the entry fee. Any child that is in a stroller or wagon is not charged. PLEASE NOTE: Children must be accompanied by an adult guardian on the course.
Can we wear rollerblades or bike the event? For the safety of the participants and spectators, we appreciate it if you do not wear rollerblades or ride bicycles during the event.
Is the race timed? There is a race clock at the start/finish line, however no official race results are posted or tabulated for the event. This is a family fun run so we draw many serious runners, but we also have many runners/walkers that are not quite so serious. We all know who the real winner of Gobble Gait is, right? It's Hastings Family Service of course!
Are there any awards for the finishers? We offer trohies to the top male and female finishers. We do not have any age group results.
Where is the pre-race party? The pre-race party and pasta dinner will be held at The Onion Grille, 100 Sibley Street, Hastings MN.
When does race-day registration begin? Race day registration begins at 6:30am in the City of Hastings parking lot just east of the American Legion. Click here for a map.
What does the "Family Registration" mean for $25? This entry fee is for immediate family members to run the 2K Race. There is no family disount for the 8K race.
How will the construction of the New Hastings Bridge impact the race area? The starting point has been moved further east on Second Street to alleviate congestion underneath the bridge. The same day race registration point and food drop off has been moved to the City of Hastings parking lot adjacent to the American Legion, all east of the former locations.
